POLICE in York are still questioning a man gunned down after he claimed to be carrying a bomb in his rucksack.
A 43-year-old man from the York area remains in custody at Fulford Road police head quarters where he is being quizzed by detectives.
Armed officers used rubber bullets to "disable" the man after a three hour stand off on Ouse Bridge last night (Sun).
Today detective chief inspector Nick Warnes said the scene has since been examined and there was no trace of explosives.
He ruled out any links to international terrorism and said the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) was carrying out an investigation into the incident.
