POLICE are appealing for anyone who has information about the ownership of this bicycle to contact them.

Officers recovered the silver-coloured Claud Butler Pagan mountain bike on Sunday. It is believed to have been stolen from the York area within the last six months.

The cycle has front suspension, a blue drinks holder attached to the frame, and a red and grey plastic child's seat is attached to the rear.

If you have any information regarding the ownership of this bike, contact PC Wright, on 0845 60 60 247.

Does this really constitute top story status!! Was it used in an armed robbery?

A big crime story. "Stolen Bike Recovered".

Did it used to belong to Della? Has she reported one missing.

Meanwhile, in the real world, druggies and skanky types continue to roam the streets unhindered by the law.

Come on The Press, there must be another rat to report on, or perhaps a missing hamster.

Before you criticise, you don't know if there's any special significance to this bike - it's likely it's involved with some other crime.

.what sort of stories DO you want to see?

Well written, informative and not mysterious or sensationalist/tablo
id stories... not much to ask I'm sure you'll agree?

There is a belief that the Press could well rise to that standard (not to mention increase paid readership and profits) if it ceased being a daily driven by advertising and filler stories, and instead concentrated on quality and published say 3 or 4 times a week.

I maybe only speculating ;) but I get the impression that the point of this story is not to reunite a cycle with its owner but to get the evidence required to convict a prolific offender with it's theft, which on one hand may seem trivial, but on the other maybe suffient with other offences to take them out of circulation for a while.......
I now hand back over to those with the basic thought processes...... ;)

I very much doubt that when the bike was stolen it had the baby seat on. With the front and rear disk brakes, front falkes hightend seat and drinks hold it looks like a actual mountin bike or trik bike. In my opinion it has been stolen from a keen cyclist and converted into a baby carrier by the thief or the person who bought it "dodgy". They have obviously been in contact with the police who have nicked someone for one reason or another and want to pin more then the petty crime they caught them for.

Fascinating!
Now plod - get to recovering the 5 bikes I've had nicked (and reported!) over the last 15 years!
Thanks
