AN ESCAPE artist dog which went missing from his York home after using a trampoline to jump a fence is back with his owner.
Harvey, the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, was left in his owner's garden in the Chapelfields area of York at about noon last Friday, but little did she know the crafty canine would use a trampoline to get over the garden fence and make a bid for freedom.
Owner Laura Kidson, 27, said Harvey has now been returned to her after a woman phoned her following an appeal in The Press.
Miss Kidson said: "I had several phone calls after the article went in the paper from people saying they'd seen him and then a woman called me to say she had taken him in somewhere on Tudor Road in Acomb.
"When she phoned me I was nearly in tears, I was that relieved. We are all just so happy to have him back at home and I am spending the weekend putting up a big fence to make sure he doesn't pull the same trick again."
Miss Kidson, of Bramham Avenue, who works as a dispenser at Boots, said her daughter Chloe Beattie, four, was over the moon at Harvey's safe return.
