BIG-HEARTED pub-goers dug deep at a festive charity fun day in York.
The Edward VII in Nunnery Lane held the event to raise funds for York Hospital’s Cancer Unit and St Leonard’s Hospice, making £500 for each.
The day included a Christmas prize draw and raffle, pig racing and karaoke.
Pub landlord Alan Jackson and customers Paul and Michelle Farrar organised the event and said they were grateful for the support of shops In Bishopthorpe Road for their support.
Transport company Transdev donated half the cost of the main raffle prize, a TV, and Ken Ainsworth donated £100 to take the total raised to £1,000.
Mr Jackson said the fundraiser had been a great success.
