A MAN accused of a raping a young girl at his home in York has appeared before a judge for the first time.
Antonio Domingos Baraken faces an allegation that he carried out a sex attack on a girl under the age of 13 at his house in Leicester Way, in the city centre, between April 30 and June 30 this year.
The 53-year-old, who was arrested last Monday, spoke only to confirm his name when he appeared in the dock at York Crown Court for a brief hearing yesterday.
Baraken was remanded in custody and is next due to appear at the same court in October. He has yet to enter a plea to the rape charge he faces.
