CPP, York's biggest private employer, is to open a new contact centre in Chesterfield, creating 300 new jobs by the end of this year.
The rapidly-expanding group, which employs 1,100 people at its Holgate Park headquarters, also has a thriving office in Tamworth, Staffordshire.
The Chesterfield site will be launched in July to provide outsourced marketing services on behalf of its business partners.
These services accommodate the rapidly growing demand for CPP's life assistance products and services in the UK, which are designed to help consumers "live life and worry less".
Products are designed to simplify the complexities of everyday living, whether they affect personal finances, home, travel, personal data or future plans., The investment is the result of the company's ambitious growth plans, that saw UK revenues up 16.7 per cent on 2006 to £136 million, while internationally the group turned over £225.2 million, up 14 per cent on the previous year.
The new site will allow the business to expand its UK and international operations significantly. It should ultimately generate the 300 new jobs over the next year, without taking away employment opportunities from York or Tamworth, where recruitment is continuing.
Stephen Kennedy, CPP UK managing director, said: "We are very excited about the business expansion, as our York and Tamworth offices have experienced incredible success and growth over the past few years, and we expect the same in Chesterfield."
CPP expects to recruit 200 full and part-time employees by August, with an additional 100 hired by the end of 2008.
The site will ultimately accommodate 400 employees. Recruitment for all new employees has now started and training will begin on June 1.
CPP, last year's winner in the Best Business And Education Link category of The Press Business Awards for its enterprise message delivered in a programme of workshops in York schools, will give its Chesterfield applicants two weeks' comprehensive training.
Mr Kennedy said: "CPP is committed to employee training and development, and in 2007 we won a national training award for our contact centre training.
"We will be making sure that all new employees receive the best training to be very successful and provide a first-class service to our customers."
