The Grange Hotel, York, and The Rudgate Brewery are jointly celebrating the city’s ale brewing history and the fact that 15 different ales are produced there each year.

They are hosting A Night Of Real Ale at the hotel in Clifton on Tuesday, December 9.

Craig Lee, Rudgate’s head brewer, will present four of his specially-selected ales to complement the fine Yorkshire food of Grange Hotel head chef James Brown.

Mr Lee and his team will talk guests through the brewing process and the differences in the ales, while using the traditional method of pouring the beer from casks during dinner.

Amie Postings, The Grange’s general manager, said: “Regardless of the nationality of our guests, they always expect to taste real ale while in Yorkshire.

“There has been fantastic interest in this event, demonstrating that local people are also keen to support York’s brewing heritage.”
