A TOP public relations professional has returned to York to start his own agency. Ben Pilgrim, 30, has launched PilgrimPR and has already taken on some of the leading companies in York, such as the Skelwith Group and FlyMeNow.

After working for some of the biggest agencies in the London, and as a journalist in Central America, he has returned to North Yorkshire, where he lived until he was 18. Ben said: “It’s great to be back home and working with some of the best companies in the city as there is so much going on, despite lots of talk of doom and gloom. “I want to work with ‘best-in-class’ organisations and prove to people in London that world class communications can be done from York. Having worked all over the world I want to bring all this experience back to my home city.”

Ben, who now lives in St Peter’s Quarter, off Leeman Road, has been working on a freelance basis for the Skelwith Group but decided to make his move from London permanent after the success of launching the £100 million Flaxby Country Club in May.
