MORE than 100 balloons were let loose in aid of our Guardian Angels Appeal during a weekend of family fun at a farm shop near York.

Visitors to The Farm Shop, at Willow House Caravan Park, in Wigginton Road, had the chance to pay £1 to release a balloon, with 25p going to our appeal.

The money will help fund life-saving high-dependency facilities for children at York Hospital.

An "animal ark" at the shop, featuring lambs, chicks, pet calves, guinea pigs and rabbits has also been raising money for our appeal this spring.

Admission to the "ark" cost £3 for children, with 50p from every visit going to our Guardian Angels appeal. The total raised was £412.
