PUNTERS at a charity race night have the chance to put their flying skills to the test on an RAF flight simulator.
The event is being held in memory of 20-year-old Natalie Strickson of Haxby, in York, who died of a rare heart condition in 2005.
Since her death, her family and friends have thrown themselves into The Press Guardian Angels Appeal in tribute to Natalie.
They have already raised about £10,000 towards the new life-saving high-dependency unit for children at York Hospital, and through this race night they hope to bring in another £5,000.
It will take place on Friday in the Lysander Arms, in Rawcliffe, York, starting at 8pm, with free entry.
Betting will take place on the night and there will also be a chance to buy horses.
During the evening, a number of auction lots will also go under the hammer, including a flight simulator course at RAF Linton-On-Ouse, a limited edition natural wildlife painting by York artist Robert Fuller, a two-night stay in a four-star Edinburgh hotel and a signed Leeds Rhinos match ball.
