A NEW head teacher has been unveiled at Pocklington School.
Nicholas Clements is stepping down as head and has been replaced by Mark Ronan.
Mr Ronan, 39, is the former deputy head (academic) at Trent College.
He was brought up on the Isle of Man.
He read economics at Emmanuel College, Cambridge, and was employed in corporate banking at Barclay's Bank before entering the teaching profession.
Teaching experience prior to his present post includes nine years at Rugby School, where he was head of economics and business studies and was a resident boarding house tutor.
The new head teacher is married to Fiona, a nurse.
Mr Ronan said: "I feel deeply privileged to be given the opportunity to assume the headship at Pocklington School.
"Although I have only known the school for a short time, the strength of its community is my first, and lasting, impression.
" I look forward to working with all who are involved in the care and education of our young people."
