STUDENTS and staff at a York private school are celebrating after the school sailed through an inspection.
Bootham School, York’s coeducational Quaker School, has received a glowing inspection report from the independent schools council.
Head teacher Jonathan Taylor said: “Above everything, Bootham believes that with a bedrock of Quaker values, we are here to educate the whole person and that has been clearly recognised by the inspectors.”
“The report states pupils are self-confident, courteous and have a high level of social skills, and praises the quality of the whole educational experience, with pupils achieving high standards across the board both academically and socially.”
The inspection report covers both the senior school and Bootham Junior School, based in Rawcliffe Lane in Clifton, where the inspectors described the academic development of the pupils as “outstanding”.
