A FLEDGLING business, based in Pocklington and with a York sales office, is not just flying – it is positively soaring.

That is why flymenow.co.uk is pitching for both the Small Business Of The Year and the Tourism And Hospitality Business Of The Year titles in The Press Business Awards 2008.

The company links a worldwide fleet of aircraft through registered charter companies to the travel needs of its clients.

“They tell us what to do and we make it happen,” said commercial director Andrew Whitney, whose first year of operation generated more than £1.1 million-worth of flight bookings, plus plans for more investment in year two and the opening of an office in Melbourne, Australia, to tap into the Asia Pacific market.

Australian Mr Whitney is one of a group of successful businessmen and pilots behind the company.
