YOUNG officials from the York Rugby League Referees' Society have continued to make their way in the game.
Shane Daniel, 21, Craig Swanson and Gareth Evans, 21, have officiated at international level, while four teenagers are also making strides.
The society's match development officer, Stuart Evans, said: "It's been an excellent season. Shane, Craig and Gareth are developing their careers, and the juniors are moving on splendidly, running the line on some open age games, which will stand them in good stead."
This year, Daniel has refereed in National League Three, Foundation Academy (under-16s), Junior Academy (U18s), National Youth and National Conference divisions one and two. He has touch judged in NL1 and NL2, Junior and Senior (U21s) Academy, Challenge Cup and Northern Rail Cup ties, and will run the line in the forthcoming Great Britain juniors v Australia Schoolboys match. He has also been in-goal touch judge in Super League.
Swanson has refereed at NL3, National Conference and National Youth, and been touch judge in NL2, Senior and Junior Academy and Challenge Cup, and will also run the line at an Australia Schoolboys game.
Gareth Evans has refereed at NL3, National Conference one and two, National Youth, and Pennine League, and touch judged at NL1, NL2, Northern Rail Cup, Challenge Cup, and in a B' international between Scotland and France. He has also been in-goal touch judge in Super League.
Stuart Evans, Gareth's dad, has refereed in the Pennine League, been reserve ref in NL2, and touch judged in NL3, Academy matches and at the Scotland A' v France A' game.
The four juniors are Zoe Anderton, 14, Danny Boag, 14, Liam Mayled, 15, and Liam Haxby, 14.
