NORTHWICH Victoria pair Paul Brayson and Stuart Eliott are poised to become York City boss Billy McEwan's next two summer signings.
McEwan confirmed yesterday that he is waiting for the two players to return from holiday before adding the final touches to their transfers.
Former Newcastle United forward Brayson, 29, was Northwich's top scorer last season with 12 goals and previously spent the summer of 2004 on trial with the Minstermen.
Elliott was the Vics' club captain but, like Brayson, was not named on the club's retained list.
"They are coming into the club," McEwan confirmed. "It's just a matter of rubberstamping their moves and we are waiting for them to return from holiday to sign their contracts."
McEwan also admitted that free agent Tyrone Thompson, the former Scarborough player, could be a possible target after learning that he had turned down a new deal at Blue Square Premier neighbours Halifax Town.
He said: "We've not shown any interest in him at all but he's not a bad player and we are looking for midfield players all the time. He's suddenly popped up as being available and is a local boy as well."
