The gulf between York & District Senior Cricket League division 5A leaders Driffield III and bottom placed Hovingham was exemplified when the pacesetters gained a ten-wicket victory to leave their opponents seriously adrift.

Huntington skipper Tom Shaw had a terrific game at Londesborough Park, where his 6-50 followed by 44 not out enabled his side to win by five wickets.

Having shone as a bowler a week ago, Yorkshire Ladies player Robyn Still proved her value with the bat as she made 31 not out in an 88-run partnership in 12 overs that saw Carlton Towers race to victory over Tadcaster Magnet.

Rowntree continue to head up division 5B after beating Dringhouses by 58 runs, with Graham Pearce making 67 and teenage spinner Nathan Ellison capturing 6-28.

Thorp Arch & Boston Spa are hot on the leaders' heels after winning a high-scoring home game against Cawood.

Skipper Jim Turner dominated an opening stand of 151, making 103 while partner Rob Williams made 38.

Mark Layfield (56no) and Steve Raine (32no) then pumped the Boston total up to 259-3 before a declaration was made.

Cawood replied with a creditable 214 all out.
