NESTLé Flag thumped Wigginton Grasshoppers 11-0 in the F1 Racing Premier Karting Sunday Morning Football League’s Grand Central Challenge Trophy.
Flag dominated the second round tie with hat-tricks from Chris Dyson and Kevin Martin, a double from Ed Hickingbottom and solo efforts from Dave Hartas, Chris Johnson and Matt Hartas.
Severus brushed aside Bishopthorpe 9-2 with goals from Nick Hutchinson (2), Mark Thompson (2), Mark Triffitt, Craig McShane, Zac Lovely and brothers Lee and Craig Atkinson.
The only shock of the round saw division two side Enterprise defeat division one outfit Thorpe 3-2 after extra time.
Enterprise led at the break 1-0 through an own goal, but Thorpe made it 1-1 with a strike from Cy Mortimer.
Enterprise regained the lead with a Jonny Sinclair goal, only for Thorpe substitute Tony Wetherall to take the tie into extra time.
With penalties looming, Sinclair struck his second to win the game for Enterprise.
Selby Olympia beat Acomb Celtic 6-2 with goals from Ryan Chadwick, Craig Anderson, Steve Rollinson (2) and Danny Chadwick (2). Celtic’s scorers were Joe Woof and Ian Hufton.
Haxby beat York Nomads 3-1 with goals from Chris Rigby, Paul Jacobs and Matt Boggan. Nomads’ reply came from Michael Horner.
In the Junior Challenge Trophy, four goals from Danny Gray and an Adam Russell brace saw Acomb WMC beat Britannia Tadcaster 6-3. Phil Zealand, John Sebine and Mark Pitts were on target for Britannia.
Selby Station enjoyed a shock 4-0 win over Shoulder of Mutton as Gary Collier struck twice to add to goals from Andy Novan and Liam Brown.
Turf Tavern upset the form-book as they beat visitors Selby Olympia Reserves 3-2 with goals from Gary Smith, Lee Jackson and Mark Bond. Olympia replied with goals from Rob Friar and Chris Thompson.
Marcia Grey were edged out 6-4 by Acorn. Luke Richardson netted a treble for Acorn, while Leigh Dutton scored twice and Kevin Brundrett once. Marcia’s scorers were Carlos Pinto Andrade (2) and Paul Harris (2).
Yearsley Forest beat Acomb Athletic 3-1 with Joe Turner hitting the net twice and Sebastian Schiewe also on target. Athletic replied through John McKenzie.
Two goals each from Ben Rawson and James Darlinson helped Cawood beat Askham Bar 4-3.
