FATIGUE undermined North Yorkshire golf star Simon Dyson’s challenge at the Barclays Singapore Open.
Having led the field in the opening throes of the weather-ravaged Asian Tour event, Dyson, pictured, dropped away in the latter stages to finish in a tie for tenth place.
Bad weather played havoc with the tournament schedule on Saturday, with Dyson only managing to play 11 holes of his third round.
However, he ended the truncated third day one shot better off on seven-under par, two off the lead.
Playing 25 holes on the final day proved a tough task as the Malton and Norton Golf Club ace finished one-under par for the tournament.
Dyson, who won the Asian Tour’s Order of Merit in 2000 said: “It was very tough. I’m so tired. It didn’t feel like it was my normal game. I normally like to attack stuff, but I was holding back a bit as I was tired.”
