Tom Phillips’s installation work The Library At Elsinore is the centrepiece of the autumn exhibition at Shandy Hall gallery in Coxwold.

On display too are treated skulls, works on the theme of books and texts and six new pages from Phillips’s treated book A Humument, completed especially for this show.

Four schools, Easingwold School, Fulford School, Boroughbridge High School and Upton Hall School, Birkenhead, are participating in the exhibition. Sixth-form students have made artworks based on their interpretations of Page 62 of A Humument, and a special Elsinore Library blog, www.elsinorelibrary.blogspot.com, has been created as a resource for the schools working on projects associated with the show.

The Elsinore Library exhibition runs at Shandy Hall until November 30; the gallery is open from Thursday to Saturday, 11am to 4pm, and at other times by appointment on 01347 868465.
